Technology
The eTattoo™ Tag has been specifically designed for use in
“speed-of-commerce” movement of animals. This means that the identification numbers of groups of animals can be captured as they move through the antenna field. No infrastructure changes are necessary.
The tag has been optimized for increased read distances from both the front and rear of the animal, allowing the tags to be read from horseback, from an ATV, in a sale ring or pen.
The eTattoo™ Tag uses the common panel dangle tag design to allow visual identification, as well as, electronic identification even in harsh, agricultural environments.
The eTattoo™ Tag utilizes Ultra-high Frequency (UHF), which is an ISO-18000-6 Part C global standard technology. It is commonly referred to as “Gen2” which is a shortened version of its original name of “Class 1 Generation 2” (see http://www.epcglobalinc.org/standards/uhfc1g2). This technology has been adopted around the world for a wide variety of applications and is designed for the 860-960 MHz band.
